Manny Pacquiao Could Earn P2 Billion in the Mayweather Fight

Last Friday morning, Top Rank Promoter Bob Arum was in the country to meet with The WBO Welterweight Champion and Pound for Pound King Manny Pacquiao to discuss about his impending fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. and at last it's official. The much anticipated match between the two most fierce fighters in the world will take place on March 13, 2010, possibly in Las Vegas.

Manny Pacquiao's adviser Wakee Salud said last Saturday that the Pambansang Kamao could earn as high as $40 Million of a staggering P2 Billion in this fight. “I learned that Pacquiao’s guaranteed purse (for the Mayweather fight) is about $25 million and because the pay-per-view sales would be a success, Manny’s earning can go to as high as $40 million,” That's the exact words from Manny Paquiao's adviser. although it's still not clear how the price will be divided Salud added that a 50-50 sharing will be fair for both figthers. Last month against Miguel Cotto, Pacman earned $22 Million including the buys from pay-per-view which was about $54.95 per subscription.

According to Pacman's Canadia adviser Mike Koncz who was present in the meeting last Friday said that the figures ended "where we want it to be".

Now it's finally on, Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao will fight his greatest match perhaps against Floyd Mayweather Jr. with his Welterweight crown online. This match coul be the match of the century and could match or even surpass the Ali-Frazier fight. According to Bob Arum only “acts of God” or that “somebody acting like crazy” will prevent the fight from taking place.
